Emotion-aware translation
We detect the emotional tone behind what's being said and carry it through to the translated voice — so the message lands with the same intent.
About
I'm Carlos Olivera, founder of VocaTrans. For years I watched people use translation tools that were technically accurate — and emotionally empty. A sentence could be perfectly translated and still miss the point entirely.
The problem
Most translation tools treat language like a dictionary swap. But human communication doesn't work that way. The same phrase can mean completely different things depending on tone, stress, facial expression, and context.
When a customer says "that's fine" through a flat, clipped voice, the words say one thing — but the meaning is clearly another. Traditional translation misses that entirely. And when it does, trust breaks down.
What they said
"That's fine."
What they actually meant
"I'm frustrated, and I'm about to walk away."
Why meaning gets lost
Translation has always focused on correctness: the right word, the right grammar, the right syntax. But emotion isn't carried by words alone. It's carried by pace, pitch, hesitation, emphasis, and breath.
When a tool converts speech to text, translates the text, and then speaks it back, it strips away almost all of that. The result is accurate — and emotionally dead. That's not a small flaw. In a customer conversation, a medical consultation, or a negotiation, the emotional layer is often the most important one.
We built VocaTrans to put that layer back in. Not as a feature. As the foundation.
Our approach
We detect the emotional tone behind what's being said and carry it through to the translated voice — so the message lands with the same intent.
Translation happens while you're still speaking. No awkward pauses, no waiting for a full sentence, no breakdown in the rhythm of conversation.
Whether you're helping a customer, a patient, a constituent, or a colleague, the goal is the same: they feel understood, not just heard.
The best translation isn't the one that converts every word. It's the one that keeps the conversation real.

Our values
Translation should carry tone and intent, not just words. Every feature is judged on whether it makes a conversation feel more human.
Under 300ms is not a benchmark for us — it's the line between a conversation and a transaction.
Your conversations are yours. We keep data handling simple, transparent and minimal.
